Bingo is a very popular game played in the US, UK, Canada, and Australia. There are many who spend most of their time playing Bingo. But did you know there are people out there whose first name is Bingo? Yes, there is the famous basket ball player Bingo Smith, who had played for the Cavaliers for 9 seasons.  He is one of the best players of his times and ranks in the top 10 all time franchise history of in nine categories of the game. A 6 feet 5 inches player and weighed 195 pounds. bingo smith was borne on Feb 26, 1976 in Memphis, Tennessee. He had grown up playing basket ball and played his rookie season with San Diego Rockets for two seasons, 1969-70.  His excellent performance got him selected to the erstwhile Cavaliers in the expansion draft in 1970.  He played 9 seasons for cavaliers and played exceptionally.  With him at the helm, the team improved and won many games.  Bingo Smith’s special ability was jump shots from long range.   He retired from the game on Dec 4, 1979.

In the 11 seasons he played 865 games.  His exceptional performance paved the way for the hall of fame in the University of Tulsa for athletics in 1984. Although, a player of exceptional caliber, he was not so successful in his personal life.  After leaving the Cavalier, he has done some jobs, but none of them permanent.  He was in and out of jobs for some time.  Then he tried his hand in the business, especially two of them – a car rental company and a machine part company. Initially there was some success, but in the long run both failed badly.  In the meantime while running the car rental he had a severe heart attack. In the end, his life was also a failed story, like most of the sports persons have.  A failed married life and failed business.  He was surviving with the help of his friends and lived in a small room for the remains of his life.
