About Gene Haas NASCAR

Gene Haas was born in 12th November, 1952. He was founder and President of ‘Haas Automation’, which is one of the leading manufacturers of various CNC tools. He is also the founder of Gene Haas NASCAR, team, which is a well known racing team and also known as Haas Racing team. Gene Haas graduated in the year 1975 with the subject of Account and Finance. He was originally in engineering line but later on switched to business line due to some financial problem. In 1978 he opened his own machine shop.

He developed various indexers and when he found that his indexers are getting accepted in the market he created his own company ‘Haas Automation’. Now this company is one of the biggest tool manufacturers in USA. Gene Hass formed NASCAR race team in the year 2002 and he entered for the first time in Nextel Cup, which is now known as Sprint Cup. Initially he started as a single car team and his driver was in 35th position after the crash. By 2003, they were full time participants of the race with number of drivers in the team. During 2006, team shifted to North Carolina with a second full time team.

By the end of 2008, they were struggling at 27th place, by considering the performance of previous six years.   After that he announced his team name as Stewart-Haas racing and started operating with this name during 2009. On 19th June, 2006 Haas was arrested for false tax return case. Initially he claimed himself to be innocent but later when the case went into trial he accepted his guilt in one count. He had to serve in federal prison for a period of 24 months. During November, 2008 he was released from the jail and since February 2009 he came back to his Haas Automation.
